Hi everyone!
I want to share with you two of my favorite Asian-inspired dishes!
First up is the Mee Goreng Versi Azie Kitchen - a Malaysian dish that is full of flavor and spice!
Ingredients:
- 1lb. of egg noodles
- 1/2lb. of chicken, sliced thin
- 6-10 shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups of bean sprouts
- 2 cups of cabbage, shredded
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 2-3 red chili peppers, sliced (optional)
- 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sweet soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
Instructions:
- To begin, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, rinse them in cold water and drain well. Set aside.
- In a wok or large frying pan, heat up the oil on medium heat. Once hot, add the garlic and fry until fragrant.
- Add the chicken and shrimp stir-fry until cooked through. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the bean sprouts, cabbage, and sliced chili peppers. Cook for a couple of minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
- Add the cooked egg noodles, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Stir-fry until the noodles are coated evenly in the sauce.
- Serve immediately with a sprinkling of sliced chili peppers (if desired).

Next up is Nasi Goreng Sosej - a Malaysian rice dish that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
Ingredients:
- 1lb. of cooked rice
- 4-6 chicken sausages, sliced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1-2 red chili peppers, sliced (optional)
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of ketchup
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1/4 cup of frozen peas and carrots
- 2 eggs, beaten
Instructions:
- To begin, heat up the oil in a wok or large frying pan on medium heat. Once hot, add the onion and garlic. Fry until fragrant.
- Add the sliced sausage and stir-fry until the sausage is browned and cooked through.
- Add the cooked rice, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, ketchup, peas and carrots, and sliced chili peppers (if desired).
- Stir-fry everything together until the rice is evenly coated in the sauce.
- Push the rice to one side of the wok or frying pan. Add the beaten eggs to the empty side of the pan. Scramble the eggs until cooked through.
- Stir the scrambled eggs into the rice mixture.
- Serve immediately with a side salad for a delicious meal!
